Sweeney Ridge

Sweeney Ridge is where the Portola party first discovered San Francisco bay.
This is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Directions:

From I-280 near San Bruno exit Sneath Lane and drive west to the end.

The Hike:

This is a 7.8 mile round-trip hike rising 1712' with great views of the Pacific Ocean and the San Andreas reservoir.
