Joe's Place

Mission Peak, Fremont, California

A couple weeks ago on the 10th, I did Mission Peak, just south of here in Fremont, Ca.
It was fun, although it would have been murder on a hot day.
Its all open territory.
You can see everywhere you're going and everywhere you've been.
Its beautiful for a view, but you definitely want a cool day.
It was nicely foggy when I started and cleared up somewhat by the time I got up there.

It's just at 7 miles total, with about 1900' of elevation gain.
I did it in about 4 hours.
They say if you can do this twice in one day you can probably make Half Dome.
I think I'd really like to do Half Dome.
Maybe.
It looks pretty rough.
Check out the Youtube vid's.

Most people just climbed on up.

I've got to admit the view on this trip left a little to be desired.

You can see the mountains on the peninsula, just above the fog there.
Under the fog it was decently cool while hiking.
Fortunately, it was a decently cool day even after I got above the fog, so I didn't sweat too badly.

Still, all in all it was a great walk.
