Jou's Chili Powder
I've tried several times to make a good chili powder, but none of them came out right.
They were OK, but...
When I took my Alaska Cruise, I picked up a sample magazine from America's Test Kitchen and loved it.
So when I got home I signed up with Cooks Illustrated online.
When I came to their "Best Ground Beef Chili Recipe," I had to try it, especially since the first thing you had to do was to make your own chili powder.
Now, they don't just give you a recipe, they test it over and over, one detail at a time to scientifically make sure things work, every time.
So, I tried their chili recipe.
I liked it so much I immediately re-made it with improvements to my chili powder since now I understood.
And then a third time the same week!
People really like it!
So, I'm going to share with you my improved chili powder recipe.
Then I'm also going to share with you their recipe, (and BIG secret,) to make this work better than ever before!
Adjust the recipe for hotness, depending on what's available and whatever your needs are at the time.
This can be used with ground beef, chunk beef, or vegetarian chili's perfectly fine.
I learned this with 2-lbs of ground beef, but you could use it stronger or weaker.
I think you'll like it.
