Devil's Slide Hike

This is a walk, more than a hike.
You never actually leave the pavement.
It's about 1.3 miles and about 300' elevation gain.
Nevertheless, it is a great little walk.
All those years of driving down Hwy 1 past Devil's Slide, you know you always wanted to look closer, but you couldn't. Not if you wanted to get where you're going in one piece, anyways.

There are bathrooms at both ends, and benches and lookouts along the way. There are telescopes for viewing, although they cost $0.50. still, I saw whales blowing spouts, but never could get a decent pic of them, since they didn't really break the surface much.

This path is OK for dogs, wheelchairs, and bikes.

Directions:

Hwy 1 between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica.
When you come to the Tom Lantos tunnel, park.
There are parking spaces at both the north and the south ends of the park, but the ones at the north are only accessible going south.
There is no cost for parking.
Park closes at sunset.

The Hike:

It's quite obvious where you hike.
There's no confusion, since there's only one place you can go; up the road.
There are bathrooms at both ends, benches and lookouts along the way, and even telescopes to check things out.
