Directions:Take Hwy 120 past the turnoff for the valley, and on past Olmstead Point to the south end of Tenaya Lake.
The HikePark and walk past the bathrooms.
The trail begins here. It is well-maintained and clearly marked with only about 3 turnoffs the whole trip. It is about 7.5 miles to Clouds Rest with probably 2,500' elevation gain. You start at 8,000' and top out at 10,000' but there's a small ridge or two in between. |

As I was walking past this log there was this explosion of sawdust come flying out of this little crack.
It was Carpenter Ants making their new home.
