Tomales Point

We did Tomales Point yesterday.
I got a little too much sun.
Never got around to putting on my hat.

It was great!
10.36 miles, (I did a little extra,) and about 1172' elevation gain.

I never saw an 'Albino Thistle' before.
I've probably walked past them for years without noticing.
I'll bet the flowers here were really something a few weeks ago!
They were still really something now, but would have been fantastic when first bursting out!

I love the way that you are at the tip of the spit that splits the ocean from the bay.
You are also on the Pacific side of the San Andreas fault looking back at America.
(This particular view is looking more northerly, towards Bodega.)

The albino thistle is a really nice shot. I love depth of field isolation, and getting both the hill and the sea in the background really fills it out.

Thanks, muchly.
Yeah, I wanted those background items for the color and depth, although especially the color.
