Berry Creek FallsThis is a great hike, but it is strenuous.
My MapMyHike app says I walked about 12.12 miles and gained about 1,223' elevation. However the park sign says about 10.5 miles and about 2,100' elevation gain. The question then is, 'which is correct'? |
Directions:Head down I-880 S. / Hwy 17 towards Santa Cruz.
As you're going over the mountain watch for Bear Creek Road exiting on the right. Follow Bear Creek Road to Boulder Creek / Hwy 9. Turn left one block, and then right, towards Big Basin State Park. Drive out to park HQ and park. Day-use parking is $10 per vehicle. Day-use hours are 6 am to sunset. The Hike:Start from Park HQ.
Follow Skyline-to-the-Sea trail to the Berry Creek Falls trail. Follow the Berry Creek Falls trail up past all the waterfalls to the Sunset Trail. Follow the Sunset Trail back to park HQ. It's about 12 miles total with about 1100' elevation gain. |
On the way in Jerry was joking about 'what do they mean by, 'strenuous'?
So, at the end of this video I had to joke back with him.
Jerry's pretty cool.
You should go hiking with him sometimes.

I do have a lot of additional pages to get up, Berry Creek Falls, and many others.
I'm going to try to focus more on posting in the coming months, getting all this caught up, if I can.
Bear with me, OK?
Thanks.
